OAAS Youth Involvement Within Agricultural Societies Program

OAAS is highly supportive of having youth involved in local agricultural societies. As a method of support, supporting resources have been developed to assist agricultural society leaders in organizing and leading programs involving youth leaders. The goal of these resources is that they constitute a starting point for agricultural societies to develop their own leadership programs. Agricultural societies can edit, add to, or change the resources to suit the needs of their own agricultural society’s structure.

The OAAS Youth Program Committee will:

  • Provide guidelines to ensure a safe, positive and inclusive environment for youth within the agricultural societies and the agricultural society activities.
  • Engage youth and provide leadership opportunities for youth in agricultural societies and the agricultural and rural communities.
  • Create meaningful and engaging programs for youth in agricultural societies and the agricultural and rural communities.
  • Inform the OAAS membership of their responsibilities in providing a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for youth within their agricultural society and the agricultural society activities.
