Agricultural Society Membership Fees
Thank you for your continued support and participation in the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies activities. This is your Annual Membership renewal notice for 2023, due December 1st, 2022.

NOTE:
“Agricultural Society Membership” Fees are based on Fair gate receipts. If your Agricultural Society has a “Pay One Price” admission for one or more days of your Fair, please determine your gate receipts by using the same Admission Fee that you have or would have charged regularly multiplied by gate attendance.
For example
The normal ticket price is $10 and Concert night (admittance and concert) is $25. Attendance is 2,000 people – gate receipts for Concert night would be $10 multiplied by 2,000 people = $20,000.
Same idea for a “Pay One Price” that includes all Midway rides. If regular admission is $10 and “Pay One Price” is $30 then $10 admission is multiplied by gate attendance to determine gate receipts.
Thank you to the Agricultural Societies that have paid their membership fee already.
Some of the many benefits of your OAAS membership include:
- OAAS Annual Convention in Richmond Hill in February, which provides opportunities for networking, education and entertainment for our members
- Youth program – newly developed program to assist our agricultural societies in encouraging additional youth participation in their organizations
- OAAS Webinars, for example, insurance information, pandemic information, board governance
- Advocating with OMAFRA to maintain, improve and add new provincial programs and funding as well as increase their awareness of the OAAS and our member agricultural societies
For example - the COVID funding provided by the Ontario government and the inclusion of agricultural societies and fairs in the “Reopening Ontario” regulations allowed many Agricultural Societies to hold fairs and events in the second half of 2021 - Marketing our Agricultural Societies and their fairs and activities through the OAAS website (www.ontariofairs.com) and the creation and distribution of the annual OAAS Agricultural Societies and Fairs brochures and directories
- Working to revitalize and improve our Judging Program
- and more!
The OAAS has worked hard not to increase fees for six years. To enable us to maintain the current programs and provide ongoing assistance and support to our members, we have had to increase our membership fees. This increase is reflected in your membership renewal notice. Thank you in advance for your continued support.
